Not exactly a baby shower… but a little sprinkle!

rachelshower_tables

Last Saturday (8/14) was Rachel’s “sprinkle”.  Todd and Rachel are expecting babies number three and four.  It was a casual patio party with food brought in by family and fresh cut flowers in Mason jars decorating the tables.  Luckily, the rain stayed away for the day.

I designed the invitation using neutral colors, since they decided not to find out the sex of the babies (What a surprise when they finally arrive!). I thought having two storks standing in opposite corners, both carrying a very special delivery package, would be an appropriate and cute theme.  A custom written poem explained what the “sprinkle” was all about and added a personal touch beyond the basic information usually found on an invitation.

Diaper “cakes” topped with stuffed animals also decorated the tables and served as gifts for mom and dad.  A pink themed “cake” HAD to be included in the collection with the hopes that maybe one of the twins would be a girl!

White tissue paper pom-poms helped to set a festive and fun mood.  Several strands of monofilament held a variety of sizes of these pom-poms over the tables.  They were easy to assemble right from a kit (Tissue Paper Pom-Poms Kit from Martha Stewart Crafts).

Noelle & Guy’s New Year’s Eve Wedding

noelleguy_invite_envelopeI had a wonderful time working with Noelle and Guy. We first met to start talking about invitations in August! It was great having lots of time to work together (email, meet ect.)

I designed a more traditional wedding invitation that was kept closed by a “C” label. I also formatted and printed all of their invitation envelopes (matching the font and color in the invite)

noelleguy_invite_openThe rsvp card with it’s envelope, the reception card,  and the direction card were all held together on the side of the invitation by a ribbon. A matching ribbon knot was used at the top of the invitation for added visual interest.

noelleguy_inviteopenAll of the components were layered to allow for easy accessibility of the information.

noelleguy_tablenumberI also designed double sided table number cards that coordinated with the wedding invitation.

noelleguy_sealThe bride created her own table number “stands” using wine corks, accent ribbon and  a “C” wax seal for a finishing touch. I love this idea!  It is classy & unique….not to mention matches the New Year’s Eve evening reception theme. Great job Noelle!

noelleguy_favorlabelAs part of the wedding favors the couple gave each guest a lottery ticket enclosed in a glassine bag sealed with a label that I designed.

noelleguy_menucardA folded napkin at each place setting held the favor and the menu card.

noelle_guy_menu_detailI included a timeline of the evenings events at the bottom of the menu card. Its a nice way for guests to know what will be happening throughout the night.

noelleguy_winelistThe couple also asked me to design signs for the bar. They had some special wines being offered during the evening.

Angela and Justin’s Wedding

ang_justin_wedding1When I first met with Angela she had already picked out the fabric for the table runners and she knew they wanted to contiune the dark blue color and crystal theme throughout the wedding day. I found blue paper that matched the fabric perfectly.

ang_justin_wedding2

ang_justin_wedding3Since the invitation was a more traditional flat card, the rsvp card and envelope, reception card, and direction card were wrapped in a ribbon and closed with a coordinating label to keep the wedding stationary elements together.

ang_justin_wedding4I added ten swarovski crystals to the invitation to add an extra element of fun and contiune the crystal theme.

James and Whittney’s wedding cont.

james_whitt3_blogWhittney and James chose a invitation design that had a pocket to hold the rsvp card, rsvp envelope, reception and direction card. I think this is a great idea… having all of the invitation elements in one spot.

james_whitt7_blogThe green swarovski crystals added an extra unique element to the invite.

james_whitt4_blogInstead of using table numbers Whittney and James decided to name each table a local landmark in the Traverse City area.

james_whitt5_blogSince the wedding was in late August and the ceremony was scheduled to be outside Whittney and James decided to have fans for the programs to help the guests cool off a bit.

james_whitt6_blogFor the favors Whittney and James gave everyone chocolate and yogurt covered cherries. I found glassine bags and created thank you labels to close the bags.

Ang’s Bachelorette party

ang_bachpartyThe bachelorette party started with wine tasting at a local winery.

ang_bachparty2An animal print theme bachelorette party. I thought fabric would be great to create a fun 3-D invite. Fabric is a bit tricky to adhere to paper, I discovered!

ang_bachparty3I love the matching plates and other special touches the hosts put together to continue the theme.

The shower favors were customized with each persons name. Four notecards and envelopes per box.

customshower_placematsAnother shower detail…I had custom place mats made for both grandma’s, mommy, daddy, and a special bib made for the baby on the way.
